Ory Swinging
Progeria is a rare genetic condition.
Only
one child out of 8 million are found to have this disease. Doctors believe
that in actuality, only one child in 4 million have Progeria.
Today,
there is only 30 children around the world that have Progeria.
Each
child is short in stature. They will not grow to be more than 4 feet
in height.
They
have very little hair if any.
Their
voices are higher pitched than normal.
Their
teeth take longer to grow and sometimes require the removal of one or
more teeth in order to make room for more.
They
have tight, wrinkled skin.
They
have stiffness in the joints.
Most
children develop cardiovascular problems. This is the major cause of
death in these children.
Their
average life span is 13 years.
The gene has been found that causes Progeria.
There
is no known cure, but that is what prayers are for.
